Finally all that hard work setting up the shop is past and I am pleased with how it looks..There will be tweaks as time goes by..I have limited images to use on the slideshows at the moment so they will change in time... I learn new things every day so the way the shop flows may change as I find ways to make it as easy as possible to navigate...New information on how best to optimise search engine searches to be worked through slowly....As I am selling on line it would be a good thing if folk can fine me but working against the bigger on line shops will be a challenge :)
One day at a time one step at a time. It is an ongoing process..it will get done..that's what I keep telling myself when that feeling of being totally overwhelmed pops up :)
The opening week has not produced any sales..I won't lie and say I wasn't disappointed..I was a bit..not too much though :))
I only have one supplier of yarn at the moment and although I would definitely purchase the yarn maybe it is not to everyone's taste or price range.
In the next month or so I should have some Rowan and patons yarn as well as a special collection from a small independent yarn dyer. So advertising will happen on line and via flyers and posters locally when that is all in place. It is very early days and I have many more plans that will take time to implement and hopefully ( fingers crossed! ) that will have an impact on the on line sales.
A major problem over the weekend came about when trying to change my domain name and have one forwarded to the other....What a nightmare it turned out to be! To say I was stressed is a bit of an understatement as the .com domain went down, the ssl certificate was affected and no one knows about the .co.uk address as all links I have are to the .com address :( It has taken a lot of emailing support centers and live chat conversations...I 'think' it is now almost sorted..on a positive note I learnt a few new things through the process ;))
So today is a bit of a sloooooow day and I am working on bits and pieces of admin and phone calls. I am also working on a couple of blog posts about the small businesses that have helped me in some of the processes I haven't been able to do myself. Excited to share that once I have all their stories in :)
If - by chance - you fancy buying some Bergere de Fance Yarn and accessories please head over to the shop :)) xxx
