I have a mothers day offer on at the moment. Check out the specials page for the three luxury yarns included in the littlebitofluxury offer.
I started first thing this morning by working on various jobs off my list (I have a master list and take certain jobs off that to to attempt each day) Alan is on holiday and dropped three very large parcels off at the courier for me and then came back and started ironing whilst watching old films :)
I worked steadily through the jobs and checked off another order from Stylecraft and put it into stock. I had helped a lovely lady on instagram by showing her images of the shades of wool she wanted so she could make sure they had the effect she was after. I was able to complete her order with the black that was included on delivery.
We have had a lovely week so far celebrating Milly's 16th Birthday in the low key way she chose. She didn't want a party and as Dad is ill we couldn't have the usual family meal we would have but it has been a pleasurable couple of days and she has had fun.
Milly and El - birthday sleepover guest who had stayed for a third night :) - came down around midday and I made pancakes for them and they went off to watch the music channel.
Alan continued with the ironing!
I have had steadily increasing sales over the weeks and the packing process needed to be streamlined as I spent too much of my time taking out various boxes and folders and tape dispenser etc and cutting out labels.
I bought a great little stacking drawer set from Poundstretcher yesterday and set about cutting out labels and getting together all the inserts I put into each parcel. I stamped and attached the flowers on the tags I use and the whole lot fitted perfectly in the drawers and can all be taken out of the cupboard at once. It is a little tweak that will make a big difference each day.
Milly and El came rushing through from the living room and with great excitement told me about an event they would like to attend in Sheffield tomorrow! Now, for Milly this is a BIG thing. She lives with extreme anxiety and has panic attacks. There were many reasons why it could be seen as a step too far and all the things that could go wrong did flash through my mind! However, she was so excited and I decided to work with her to make her wish come true. There were many challenges to get to the place where it could happen. Financially Milly had her birthday money plus some savings she had prior to that and we agreed to fund part of the £76 return fare. . Alan was up for taking them to the station in Carlisle for the train at 7ish and then pick them up at eight on the night, As it turned out that option wasn't taken. For various reasons..mainly to make things as easy as possible for Milly as a change of train at Manchester was not something she felt able to do! El's Mum and my good friend Liz is luckily of the same mind as me and got involved to make it happen for them :)
I know that Milly is brimming with excitement but is also filled with nerves about the prospect. I also think that I could very easily have dissuaded her had I not been careful. I happen to believe that she knows her own mind and from the many years experience we have had with anxiety and panic I know that if she had felt that it was not possible she wouldn't have made the plans. That doesn't mean tomorrow won't be full to the brim of challenges for her and it is feasible that she will panic (which for me, being so far away from her, will be the hardest thing to handle tomorrow) however, she may not...
I know that she will need all her courage and luckily she has El with her to help her through. So my part in all this was to facilitate and accept that she felt able to do it and to not to put any more barriers in front of her than are already there.
I am so proud of her for challenging herself .
I am willing her on and wrapping her in anxiety busting vibes :)
If you have any going spare I am sure they would be very helpful <3
