I have spent a really lovely few hours in the studio today. I have a couple of new yarn crushes..well more than a couple but a couple that are relevant today :)
I am truly in love with sock yarn and have begun to increase the range I offer. More about that later.
For now let me introduce you to Scheepjes Catona. I have fallen in love with the whole Scheepjes range and you can expect to see more lines appearing over the coming months. I have Stonewashed in stock and have added Catona and Invicta this month.
I saw an image on a lovely customers instagram feed and knew as soon as I saw then that they would be perfect to display on the back wall. Luckily both the Invicta and the Regia sock yarn look fabulous in the heart badkets :)
Catona is 25gm balls of sheer delight. There are 69 shades in the range and what amazing colours they are! Rich jewel tones, bright summer shades and neutrals of every hue. The quality of this mercerised cotton is second to none and your finished project will look beautiful.
The teeny balls are perfect for any project when you need a selection of colours as at only 99p a ball they won't break the bank.
Now can we talk about sock yarn :)
I have wanted to knit socks for years and have attempted (with the help of a lovely customer) to knit them but there were a few things against me. Time was one of them as things really took off and being a one woman show it meant I had to concentrate on setting up systems to make packing orders easier and then the move to the studio..It has been all go. The second one links to the first and it is the fact that my foggy brain takes a while to grasp new techniques and being so busy didn't leave me with much time or brainpower.
None of that has dampened my enthusiasm for knitted socks though. I love to look through instagram and see the fabulous array of knitted socks :)
I love the yarn and there is just so much out there! I am doing my best to increase my range and entice you :)
I have Red heart Sport in plain and color and Regia 4 ply, Rico Circus in a few shades and a Bergere de France Goomy shade. To those I have added the most fabulous Scheepjes Invicta colour. I have six shades with plans to add more til I have the whole range :)
This picture shows you the fabulous variegated yarn. With long colour changes this yarn is perfect for shawls too. All the sock yarn can be used for so much more than socks..Beanies, gloves, scarves and I have seen some truly amazing throws made with it.
And here...look at this beauty...Regia Indian nIght! How gorgeous is this <3
Ok enough about sock yarn..You get the idea..I love it and I can't wait for the time I can add some hand dyed lines to the shop.
So I couldn't knit socks but when I met Elin and we started on our first collaboration I heard about her Survival socks and the best thing is they are crocheted! I chose a regia shade as and am thoroughly enjoying making them. I am so busy that I often only get a round or two done but they are a nice portable project so I take them out and so a round whenever I can :)
One more shot of the display I created today :)
Finally just a word about Buggy the egg bunny. The second collaboration between Elin and myself. I had an idea and Elin has brought it to life :) Here is Buggy and if you wanted to make one you can buy a kit with the pattern here. You can pick and mix the yarn and use colours you want. All details on how to do that are on the product page :)
These are Elin's images and I have fallen for this super cute little bunny and eggs.
It has been lovely to see the different shades people are using as in the order below :)
