Things started off very well.
Then got even better when I got notification of another large wool order! I stopped what I was doing and picked the lovely selection of yarn. I went to print the order off and the afternoon then took a different turn.
The printer wouldn't print!
I will not bore you with the saga but it lasted a while. I tried everything I knew to get it working to no avail.
I sent a distress message to R who lives in the village and has helped with computer issues before. I decided to get on with other things whilst I waited to hear from him. I realised that I had been working non stop and decided that
the first thing I should do was to take time out and have a bath and relax. The best thing about working from home is the flexibility..the ability to change plans and work the hours that suit me...not many places of work where you can have a long hot bath and meditation when you need one :)
I took an hour or so out and then had some lunch before starting again.
I have cleared a lot of fiddly jobs and paperwork and had a couple of ideas that I had to work through and cost up to see if they would work..They seem to be viable so watch this space! I also had to spend a good part of the afternoon/evening researching printers. So much to think about when comparing them! It's sorted and reserved so that Alan can pick it up on the way home tomorrow.
R got in touch this evening and printed the label off for me and whizzed round with it. The parcel is ready to drop off at the courier in the morning.
It's the second time he has come to my rescue to print off a label so that I can get an order posted.
I blush when I think of last time when it was simply the ink cartridge that needed replacing! In my favour the machine wasn't showing that it needed doing:)
We have known R for about 14 years. He is a fabulous guy, great company and very knowledgeable about anything to do with technology among many other things. The quality that I love so much about him is his passion. He has always given 110% to any task that he does. He and his whole family are very inspirational in the way they live their lives. We don't see each other often now but I have a huge store of very happy memories spent in their company.
I hope to start the tutorial tomorrow. Let's see how the day pans out.
