It’s Elin at Panda Go Urgh here again, and this time with great news! The first collaboration between Lusciously Loopy and Panda Go Urgh (also known as #pandagoloopy) is... ALIVE (?)!!!
Yes, we have lovingly and with a lot of blood, sweat and tears produced a monster our baby, that is 2 cushion cover patterns and a yarn and button pack!
Say hello to Mossa and Pilar the six colour crochet cushion covers!
They are two cheerful, lovely cushion covers, that are same same, but different. They both use the same colours and yarn (Stylecraft Special DK in Petrol, Lobelia, Grey, Graphite, Raspberry and Plum), they both have button closings, they are the same size and they are both kind of stripy. They go together, but they are each a wonderful piece of crochet on its own, with their own texture, stitch and character. Let me tell you more about them!
6 Colour Crochet Cushion: Chevron Pilar
I do love a chevron pattern, I really do. I love graphic patterns, and I love love LOVE the texture that crocheting in back loops gives. The little ridges that come through in this pattern create little arrows, pointing along the work which I really like!
Let me tell you, I have crocheted A LOT of chevrons. It’s my speciality, if you will. That’s one reason why I wanted to create this pattern. The other reason is that I’ve had a lot of Instagram followers telling me that they have had problems with this pattern. Many have problems with the stitch count, causing the edges of the piece to become uneven, or the points to become wonky. Another problem is that it can be difficult to know how to adapt the pattern to the size you want. In my pattern I give detailed explanations and provide plenty of pictures with tips on how to not mess up the stitch count. I also provide a graphic explanation of the pattern that shows you how to increase or decrease the pattern repetition, or extend or shorten the width of each chevron to suit your specific needs. In other words, it’s possible to make a blanket using this pattern!

6 Colour Cushion cover (Moss Stitch) Mossa
I’ve never done anything in moss stitch before, but I just loved the look of it – and while making this cushion cover I fell in love with crocheting moss stitch as well as looking at it. It’s easy, it’s relaxing, it’s beautiful! The texture is absolutely gorgeous and it creates such an interesting pattern that almost messes with your head if you stare at it too long!
Out of the two cushions, this is my favourite. It’s just so darn cute! And do you know what I really like? The buttons! Usually I want the buttons to be as hidden as possible, but these different coloured, cheerful, wooden buttons just make my heart sing! I purposely put the cushion with the buttons facing up on my sofa!
In this pattern, just like in the chevron one, I include detailed pictures and descriptions of how I do colour changes, the order of the stripes and of how to do the border with special attention to the surface stitch. Of course I’ve also described how I’ve joined the front and back together and how I’ve done the oh-so-cute button closing!
The 6 Colour Cushion: Moss Stitch Pattern, Mossa is an exclusive part of the 6 Colour Cushion Yarn Pack. When purchasing the pack, you don’t only get lovely, discounted yarn, you also get the buttons AND this pattern sent straight to your email inbox! Because you’re worth it!
As a celebration for our first collaboration If you buy the pack you will also be entered into a draw that will take place on the 13th December. the winner will receive a voucher for £15.00 to spend on anything in the shop. Good Luck!
Aaaaaand... Some more pictures before I’m quite ready to finish this blog post!
Which cushion is your favourite?
I’ve worked hard on these patterns and I’ve tried to make them as clear and easy as possible, therefore they should be suitable to fairly new crocheters, while still being fun to make for a more experienced crocheter! I really hope you’ll like the patterns. As always, please contact me on email email@example.com if you have any problems with your cushions and need a bit of extra help, or message me on Instagram @pandagourgh. And don’t forget to use the hashtag #pandagoloopy so we can see your lovely makes!
Love Elin xx
