I had a request via my Facebook page by a new customer for me to put together a selection of colours and take a picture so she could see what they looked like together. Always ready to play with colour combinations I was more than happy to help :)
K had been inspired by the colours in the Loopy Vintage pack but put her own take on it :)
The final order had more colours added and she will make her decision what goes into the baby blanket when she gets it.
She sent me a message and after a couple of messages I thanked her for choosing me to shop with instead of one of the bigger online shops and I then got a message got one that started...
(For a bit of customer feedback)
and carried on to say..
I chose you because I liked how you were putting the colour combos on Instagram and you showed other bundles you'd done for other customers. This made me feel it was ok to ask you to show me a selection. I have bought a lot of stylecraft over the past couple of years I've been crocheting but these weren't colours I tend to buy so it was very useful to see them together rather than tiny swatches. Your personal touch is a big selling point also, at the end of the day, your prices are very competitive too - it wasn't going to come out more than say wool warehouse and it was still less than going to the market stall in town on Friday. Hope that thinking helps.
Ps. I randomly found you on Instagram through the stylecraft hashtag too...
Well, I was thrilled:)
I have had a ball putting all the combo's together and had worried a little that people may get fed up of them but the pics on instagram continue to get around 50 (or more) likes and K obviously felt they were useful :)
I have been lucky to have some really lovely comments by facebook message and people have posted pictures of their orders arriving on both Facebook and Instagram. It really does make my day :)
Today we had planned to go to the beach.
I got up and packed orders and took them to the My Hermes shop and then did some paperwork before we set off at 1.30 ish. Another order was placed just in time for me to pack it and drop it off on our way :) The Loopy Vintage pack had sold out again (I only pack a couple up as I can't carry the stock yet to make more at a time and still have the colours available to buy separately) It feels so good to have someone like and buy a combination I have put together :) I picked more yarn to put another one into stock and will now have to reorder to replenish stocks. I have managed to add a few packs on each order and have now got a bit of backup in the Special Dk in most colours although Stylecraft are out of stock of a few..The dining room is filling up with the shelves chocca block full and bags with the back up stock stored in them are in front of the bookcases but I still have easy access to the stock...Just!
We had no firm plans for going for a walk at the beach as we were both a little fragile today. We decided just to see how the mood took us but importantly chips and coffee had to be involved!
We got to the beach and parked up near the chippy only to find it closed! Plans were changed and we decided to head back to Maryport and go to the really good chippy on the harbour. We decided this was a good thing that the shop was closed as the Maryport shop is one of our favourites and we could perhaps walk around the Quay...Off we went, listening to Milly's choice of Music (a mix of Ed Sheeran and Fall out Boy) and chatting away. She is great company and we both said how lovely it was to be out and about together even though we weren't doing anything in particular. I have been asked about home education as I posted a comment about Milly coming out of school on Instagram. I kept a blog for a number of years about out journey from school to autonomous education. If you are interested pop along here...I am not a writer and it is our story told honestly and simply but it might answer some questions about how life can be without school.
We arrived at the harbour to find the chippy closed! We turned round straight away and headed to Cockermouth to the second Favourite chippy on main Street. We went past to see if we could get a park nearby and it was also closed! By this time we were starving (I hadn't eaten in anticipation of the Chips) and we couldn't believe our luck. We decided to park up and decided to try for a pub meal..It was 2.45....All the pubs stopped serving at 2.30 :( The pizza shop was next on the plan. take a nice hot pizza home..Yep, it was closed. Oh the joys of living in a rural area ;)
So, Sainsburys it was...Sushi and Ben and Jerrys (Milly) chicken tikka samosa with garlic and coriander naan, some coleslaw and tomatoes (me) then home to get a coffee and sit down.
Another order was waiting on my return so I packed that and attended to some calls and emails before Alan came home.
One last order (taking advantage of the happyvalentine offer) to pack up and after a long but enjoyable day time to sit and blog before I head for a bath.
