Milly and I had talked about the fact we had a good chance of still getting the bug...Milly has a real phobia about being sick but wanted to see E and celebrate her Birthday with her and was willing to take the risk...
We had a really lovely day together..It was a long day and driving in town to places I had never been before took it's toll on my nerves! However, I did it and survived and now - looking back on it - it was more than worth it :)
Then, on Monday Milly was sick in the night and has spent a few day's very unwell.
Amongst my nursemaid duties and sitting with her to keep her company ( no hardship as she is watching her boxed set of Friends again and it has been such fun to see some of the earlier episodes again. No matter how many times I see them I still laugh out loud. Fab series! ) I have fitted in a few projects. Today was pretty full on with one thing and another but I managed to get a few finished..
The cushion cover I made has proved to be a little bit of a problem as it was still twisted even after blocking..I have had to keep blocking it each day and gradually it has straightened out.. I think the fact the cotton I used has very little give in it has been the problem...
I have read about a few different ways to rectify any future twisting problem and turning your work after each round is one recommended way..Not sure about how that would look....
As it is not a problem I have had using other yarn I might just go ahead and use a different yarn next time and at least I have a few ways to rectify if it happens again :)
The dining table has been out of action for a few days now with various thing's in various states of completion..
I have had one of those day's today..a bit scatterbrained...you now where there are so many things that need attention and you start one and then halfway through something pops into your head and you think you should just go and do that and you will come back to the original job and you end up with a lot of jobs half done and more clutter than you started with!
I have a couple of commission pieces to do for a friend and have been playing around with yarn and bead's which is always a VERY important job ;))
