A thought came to me last night.
Last night was a looong night.
I was still wide awake at 4am! I had overdone things on my first couple of days back to work after a really nasty cough and cold and I simply couldn't settle, no matter what I tried I was unable to sleep. However, on the bright side, a brainwave idea popped into my head and over the early morning hours it was fine tuned and by morning I had a plan of how to re do the dining room to incorporate more shelving. we don't have the shelving yet and have very little budget to get any but I know they are out there somewhere waiting for us ;)
The first step was to take my office out of the dining room and that was done this evening. I am moving into the living room where we have a large office area. i won't be with my wool but I have a nice aspect looking out of the window and it is bright and the desk has more space. So far so good.
A little tour of the new space.
A before shot this afternoon as the light was changing.
All set up and ready to go in the second image.
A framed print of positive affirmations that help to bring me back to the present at various times during the day.
Good old ikea storage painted in a duck egg colour (we had it for about 15 years before we got round to painting it and had intended to do it when we first got it!!) it holds all the cellotape, and other bits and bobs in.
A rose quartz crystal on the laptop. Not 100% why but my homeopath mentioned to use it years ago and I just always have done :)
Incense burning, I think this one is Bliss.
The delightful curtains are actually old thermal linings that were cut up and are now used as dust sheets when painting. I haven't got round to buying any new curtains since we started the decorating in here months ago! Alan got fed up of having to drape various sheets over the curtain pole and inventively he added some holes and put some curtain rings through so they can be drawn closed... Classy :)
A cosy corner..my view at the other side of the room and a collection of images that make me happy. The laminated one full of hearts was done by Milly many, many years ago :)
There we are, the tour is complete.
I'm looking forward to working here and really looking forward to sorting the shelving out so the dining room is neater and then when it is more accessible I would love to have a regular open day/afternoon so anyone that would like to can pop in and check out the yarn in real life.
Plans to be fleshed out for the future but tomorrow Alan and I will be very busy..looking for shelving and moving the furniture and hundreds of bags of yarn around.
Oh and today I also had a meeting with Michael from Rico Yarns!
What a really lovely guy and what a great way to spend a couple of hours, talking wool and business :)
A couple of shots of just some of the gorgeous samples he came with. I have a lot of thinking and planning to do but some of this will be making it's way here very soon!
Nigh night
