I have been finishing off some hanging decorations and bags... I spread out all the buttons, beads, ribbons, yarn that I thought I would need on the big table and once the combinations were worked out for each piece I sewed them up. This being the first time I have made them I was having to make it all up as I went along, so it was a tad fiddly and took quite a while.. Some of the things worked and some didn't ( bags ) and I will have to go back to the drawing board. It wasn't that the bags looked bad but the time taken to do them makes it too time consuming and they would have to be costed out at a value far too high for the finished product. Ways will be found to streamline the process :)
No time wasted though as plenty of things learnt and the rest of them should be easier now it has been worked out... Not a bad way to spend an afternoon playing with buttons, beads and ribbon, listening to history being made :)
The vintage shell buttons I bought at Woolfest came in handy today mixed with ribbon and smaller coloured buttons they look quite effective...
The turquoise bead on this little fella is absolutely gorgeous and has such a depth of colour and shine..
His beady little eye is made of the same material and in the right light looks like it is lit up :)
More of the same on the cards for tomorrow...
I missed out on the gorgeous weather today and if the sun is shining as brightly tomorrow I might be persuaded to take my towel and lie on the grass for an hour or so to top up my tan :))
