I hope you guys had a good time filled with people and things you love and if the holidays were not as you would have wished please accept a big ((hug)) from me.
The tree is gone and the decorations are down. I do love putting them up and since Milly was younger and expressed a preference for having a tree up as early as possible in December we usually buy it on the first weekend so it is up for a while before the big day! We were a week late this year but it has still had a good run. But by Boxing day I was twitching to take them down and as has now become our tradition they were eventually taken down on the 31st.
One major factor in the way we celebrated between Christmas and New year was that we have all been hit with a rather nasty bug!
So, the plans we had to go for long walks together and cinema trips etc had to be canceled.
Equally enjoyable has been the time we have spent together watching Greys Anatomy on Now TV. Something like 11 series to get through! Milly and Alan love Casualty and Holby and it has always been their 'thing' to watch together - they both choose not to watch Strictly and Xfactor with me :) - so this is right up their street. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I have but am now hooked.
Life is almost back to normal now which sadly means that Alan will be going back to work on Monday. It's been great having him around. I am easing myself in to work and have been finishing some projects that I have had on the go. One of which is the V Stitch lap throw above.
I have enjoyed making this so very much. The pattern challenged me to begin with. I wanted a chunky, firm feeling and decided to use Bergere Magic + and sport and a pattern chart by Le Monde De Sucrette.
So many comfy hours spent in bliss hooking without the need to concentrate too hard ( excellent for the fogginess that goes hand in hand with M.E ) and alongside the addictive simplicity this little stitch grows a throw quickly.
Hope you like the Images. I tried not to go overboard but I got carried away taking pictures whilst there was some half decent light...this is only a very small selection of the drapage that occurred :) The living room decoration and revamp is so nearly finished. We still need curtains and some more pictures need to be found/created for the wall behind the sofa. Little finishing touches that make a big difference.
I hope to have a pattern tutorial up for you in the next week or so.
Happy new year!
