Some time ago I began pondering the idea of collaborating with someone to create patterns and yarn packs. I love to create designs and add them here as free guides but my time is being taken up more and more with the day to day running of Lusciously Loopy and that enjoyable and creative process takes all my time and energy.
All the ideas I have are waiting in the wings ready for the time when there is space to bring them to fruition.
So I began to think about the possibility of a collaboration. Then out of the blue one day an email popped up that led to the perfect opportunity!
I am so thrilled to announce that I am working with the very talented Elin from Pandagourgh!
(Elin is going to post here soon and will explain where that name came from).
When I read her email her passion for yarns and crochet was evident. Yarn and crochet aside...You know sometimes even when you have never met someone you just know you will get on - No, that's just me? Over the years I have been on line it has happened time and time again. Some people have gone on to be real life friends and some friendships continue to grow online - well, I felt that reading her email.
She mentioned she was on instagram and that was where she had found me (yet another wonderful connection to thank instagram for!) her name rang a bell so I obviously rushed right over to check out her feed :) It was then that I realised I followed her and knew that we had more in common that just a love of crochet and yarn. Elin is prolific and very talented and I am very excited to see where this project leads us.
Over the last month or so whilst I have been setting up the studio we have been emailing, sharing creative ideas and and getting to know each other. We decided that the first project would be not one but two cushion cover patterns! Once the patterns are released there will be a yarn and button pack to go along with it. Elin created the collage above and two options for a hashtag to use and #Pandogoloopy was the one we both liked best. I think I can speak for both of us when I say that we are both in this for the same reasons with the main priority to enjoy the creative process, inspire and inform. It is never going to make us a fortune but that is not what either of us are doing it for.
Although we obviously we do hope you buy the yarn pack when that goes live:)
We will start with a small number to test the waters and then order more depending on interest. it is a learning curve for Elin and I but so far it has been a lot of fun.
Elin will be sharing her knowledge and giving tips in the patterns she creates and also as a guest blogger on here. I look forward to sharing this space with her when she wants to pop in.
I am also very excited to share some of the glimpses Elin has posted on her instagram feed.
First up, Elins' choice of colours for the project. I had no input into the colour choice. I felt it was important for it to be a palette of shades that fitted with Elins' style.
I loved the choice and was really excited to see how she combined them.
The first glimpse was of the moss stitch design. I have never worked a moss stitch but am now very excited to try!
Next came the splendiferous Chevron design! Elin is going to give plenty of tips on how to create the sharp points, working in back loops and keeping a straight edge. It is stunning.
No date has been set for the release yet but as soon as we have a date I will let you know :)
