Risk of failure
Enormous, long-term goals with micro-level planning may sound like they will cover the risk for you. But, in my experience, they do just the opposite. They can create a terror in your heart even before you make the start. They may even be so overwhelming that they prevent you from beginning.
It’s not prudent to get caught up in long-term plans at any stage of your project or entrepreneurial journey. A better approach is to focus on the small steps that connect you to your passion and conviction.
The Agile methodology suggests designing short-term goals to arrive at the long-term mission. It recommends working toward a 2-week or a 3-week goal and assessing what you’ve achieved frequently.
This helps you respond to change quickly and efficiently and allows you to create value at greater speed and frequent intervals. When you’re creating value every week, every day, no matter how small it is— rather than achieving something tangible an year down the line—you will be firing motivation on all cylinders.
You won’t have to worry about failing at something huge because you will experience small successes at every step of the way.
Sounds like a plan:))
Onward and upward with small steps full of passion and conviction ;))
Today the passion and conviction were hindered as it started with a migraine..So, plans changed and after a lie in to allow the medication to do its job I decided that the physical job I had intended to do wasn't a good move so I plumped for a sit down job and took up my hook for the very first time in weeks! How lovely to be re-acquainted :)) Zingy pinks and zesty orange look even brighter here in this instagram edit :)
I am making some birds for a display I have to put together..Over the weekend I need to venture out to look for some branchery to make a twiggy tree for them to hang from.. Then I have an idea for a 'nest' for some to go in. I need to work on the packaging and labels have to be created.
I enjoy choosing and combining colours...I like the vibrant pinks and orange and also the calmer duck egg, cream and pale taupe. I have another on on the go that I am not too sure about..Will see what it looks like when finished..
Funny how that happens isn't it..the balls of yarn can look great together but when made up they just don't seem to work. I'll keep going with it and see how it turns out.
Beading and other embellishments to add over the next few days..I want to do about 10 or 15...I think that will make a nice display. Then after March 14th ( I have a reason to get a display together on that day that I will tell you about another time ) I will then create some more to take to a local craft barn with some other items and see if they would like to stock them...
Something else that is going to be taking my time up over the next few days is this little lot!
That idea I had about selling Yarn....Well it just got real!!!
Five boxes delivered today...by a very lovely young man who gave me - unsolicited but very helpful - info about the courier service he worked for. A family run business who I may be able to use for deliveries when the sales come rolling in!
Well I've gotta be positive about this :))
No really....I do 'have' to be positive as the other option is just not getting head space... :)
Whatever happens in the future I'm trying very hard not to sabotage myself by negative thoughts.
So... the dining room bookcases require sorting and space needs to be made to store it all.
Then the little matter of an on line shop to set up and - as I had notification that another trade account has been opened for me - I have to decide on the level of commitment to another range...
Now the hard work starts.
Kits to plan, create and make up, ways to promote, venues to book....
Oh on an on it goes...it is all systems go!
One step at a time though:) Day by day, week by week....
This afternoon my gorgeous girl needed my undivided attention and we had a long chat....
When Alan got home Milly and I headed off off for a bit of shopping at Adsa and then on to the pool.
Milly managed 40 lengths.
I managed......a few ;)) and a lot of lounging in the jacuzzi, sauna and more lounging on the lounger :)
Lounging is good.....however I forgot to take my phone in - I would have put on a guided meditation..
I did find it hard to switch off my thoughts without it this evening...
It was still relaxing though...
We must get back into regular trips to the pool now the nights are getting longer and lighter.
