Well hello! Here we are at my new home in the blogosphere....Third time lucky after I started with a Lusciously Loopy blog on blogger and then - I was after a particular look but was unable to find it on blogger - moved on to wordpress.
I finally decided that a website was the way to go :) After much research and googling reviews of the different sites ( which, although useful, does have a tendency to fuddle my brain! ) I chose Weebly. I think it will do everything I need and has the benefit of being very user friendly and at the moment ( not sure if I will ever need to upgrade but the choice is there ) it is free :) I have transfered the few posts I did on the other blogs and will try to update regularly with progress...
In time it will evolve and as soon as I complete stock and get photographs taken it will begin to look better. I am having a logo created and hope to have that ready very soon:) In the minutes I am not sat in my little crochet corner in the sun room with a hook in my hand I will be titivating here and hopefully learning new techniques to make it look as I see it in my mind :)
I am starting trading on 22 July. There.... it is out there now so no dawdling and procrastinating - of which I am a grand master :)
I get butterflies thinking of actually putting my creations on here to sell but I am excited at the same time. I have had some lovely feedback from friends who have seen some of the nearly finished articles which helped enormously with my confidence :)
Today has been a whirlwind of internet activity, building this website ( it may be user friendly but it has still taken quite a bit of time to familiarise myself with the layout and research the things I can do to make it as professional and appealing as possible ) purchasing the domain names and transferring them or repointing them here or some such! You can see how much of a technical wizard I am :) Bank accounts have been researched and calls made. Funny how those few things can take up so much of the day. Enjoyable mostly with a few frustrating moments due to said technical ability or rather inability :)
Not one crochet stitch has been done. No bad thing to have a break from it but I am happy to say that I am still enjoying the whole process even though there is a deadline to get enough stock ready for. There are so many things I want to make and am starting with a selection ranging from Garlands to brooches, with bags, cushions and baby blankets in the mix. I love the process of getting an idea and researching a pattern and then going to my wool and deciding on which colours to use. It is often a very organic process with a loose plan that may change as I see it come together. Sometimes a simple change in colour combination can have a really significant impact on the finished item. In time I will decide to continue some items and others may never be reproduced. New things will be added regularly.
So after a productive day yesterday - when ( amongst other things ) and after many weeks of research trawling the internet - looking for products that fit with the style I had in my head and the price I had on my plan - I finally decided on the colour for packaging and ordered the bags and tissue paper. another good day for moving things forward today equates to lots of ticks on the to do list :)
